What a crock explained

poor georgie’s almanack:

Early Egyptians believed that at death, a heart lighter than a feather was a sign of a “good” life that would lead to a happy afterlife.  

If heavier, the deceased would be eaten by the crocodile god.  

Thus the expression from disbelievers, What? A crock?
