You and Ellis Island

poor georgie’s almanack:

Most of the 20-million immigrants processed at Ellis Island didn't set foot in NYC.

They were herded onto ferries headed for the not-elegant-at-all "emigrant trains" in Jersey.

From there they scattered N, S & W.

Over 10 million passed through just one of the stations, The Central NJ RR Terminal in Jersey City.
