Q: Where were you Nov. 22, 1963, when the curtain fell on Camelot?

A: 12:37 pm ... Going-away luncheon. The light-hearted staff of Chicago’s chamber of commerce applauded as I held up a large faked photo of me shaking hands with JFK. It symbolized my imminent departure for a job in JFK’s Latin American foreign aid program.

12:38 pm: The photo, still held high, as a waiter broke into the room and announced, “The President has been shot.”
